Merschman Seeds Signs Up as Licensee for Balance™ GT System
WEST POINT, IOWA — Merschman Seeds is pleased to announce it has signed on as a licensee for the Balance™ GT Soybean Performance System. The Balance™ GT Soybean Performance System will benefit soybean growers by providing elite, high-yielding genetics coupled with a double herbicide-tolerant trait stack offering protection against a wide range of broadleaf weeds and grasses.

As a licensee for the Balance™ GT Soybean Performance System, Merschman Seeds will be able to deliver their customers a platform that will offer not only yield improvements but also simple and effective weed management along with long-lasting, residual control.

Balance™ GT marks the second collaboration for MS Technologies™ and Bayer, which brought growers the LibertyLink® system in 2009. Balance™ GT will be broadly licensed throughout North America and will provide a strong alternative to current weed management option. In upcoming years, Balance™ GT is expected to evolve into a triple-stacked herbicide-tolerant soybean, Balance™ GTLL, providing tolerance to glyphosate, Balance® Bean and Liberty® (glufosinate-ammonium).
While Balance™ GT soybeans have received all necessary import approvals, the Balance™ GT Soybean Performance System will not be commercially available until all required regulatory approvals
are received for Balance® Bean herbicide — a new, selective herbicide for soybeans that will provide long-lasting, residual control with reactivation technology.
