New Merschman Brand Corn was added to the 2024 line up of products to complement our Stine brand Corn comprised of short, high-population, high-management hybrids. Merschman Corn is focused on the all new PowerCore® Enlist® Refuge Advanced® Corn from Corteva with four post herbicide options in addition to superior above ground insect protection. Other trait options are also available in Merschman Corn in select maturities. All hybrids are treated with our unique Starting Line™ corn seed treatment. Added a 60,000 square foot warehouse with 14 loading docks to improve on time shipments to our Dealers and Farmers.

We introduce the newest seed treatment, Starting Line™. It’s an industry-first, top of the line seed treatment for both soybeans and wheat. Starting Line™ for soybeans includes HeadsUp for white mold protection as our standard treatment. Our Starting Line Plus™ seed treatment for soybeans is a step above our Starting Line seed treatment that adds Saltro® for SDS and Trunemco™ for soybean cyst nematode control. Our Founder, Bill Merschman passed away in July at the age of 93. We continue to uphold the same values, morals, business practices and innovation techniques that Bill Merschman practiced as the Founder of Merschman Seeds.

A transition building was constructed to connect a future larger 60,000 square foot warehouse and additional loading docks. An additional small delivery truck was added to the fleet. The final phase of automation to the seed plant was completed.

In the summer of 2020, we added a color sorter that is able to more accurately detect and efficiently remove defects and foreign material based on the color profile of our seed. This improves the overall quality of our seed and doubled the speed of production.

Merschman Seeds introduces LibertyLink® GT27® and Enlist E3®, game-changing soybean products for farmers, built a larger truck facility, while also upgraded small bag, bulk bag, box packaging and treating equipment for soybeans.

Merschman Seeds constructs an addition to the existing office.

Merschman Seeds signs a marketing agreement to sell Stine Corn and Merschman Seeds, Inc. Corn is discontinued. In the same year, the team upgrades soybean treatment to include biostimulants, specifically Tripidity ST.

Merschman Seeds implements Merschman EasyOrder™ System, an online seed ordering system.

Merschman Seeds introduces Refuge-In-A Bag solutions for corn and a real-time seed inventory management system using bar codes and scanner guns.

Merschman Seeds introduces Genuity® SmartStax® (8 stack traited) hybrid corn and adds 33,000 square feet of cold storage warehouse to the existing facility.

Merschman Seeds develops Tech Port (research/plot facilities) in Iowa City, Iowa and introduces Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans.

Merschman Seeds introduces Genuity® SmartStax® (8 stack traited) hybrid corn and adds 33,000 square feet of cold storage warehouse to the existing facility.

Merschman Seeds introduces seed-applied insecticide Poncho 250® seed treatment for corn.

M.S. Technologies, LLC, is formed for soybean breeding and trait development.

Merschman Seeds builds a new warehouse to double existing storage and introduces YieldGard® Rootworm Resistant Corn.

Merschman Seeds adds a new automatic bulk bagger and receiving conveyor to the seed plant. In the same year, Mertec, LLC, is formed to begin breeding soybeans.

The first bag of biotech hybrid corn (YieldGard® Corn Borer) is sold.

Updates are made to the seed plant with state of the art cleaner and a complete dust control system.

The first bag of Roundup Ready® soybeans is sold.

Merschman Seeds adds additional warehouses for increased storage capacity.

Merschman corn is debuted and in the same year, the team sells the first hybrid seed corn.

Merschman Seeds begins to offer bulk bag packaging.

A fire breaks out at the West Point, Iowa, offices in August of 1985. The new office is completed in December 1985.

Merschman Seeds introduces doubled bagged seed storage capacity with additional seed warehouse space.

Merschman Seeds builds a new seed facility in West Point, Iowa in 1956. In the same year, the first 40-acre field of certified soybean seed was planted in Lee County, Iowa.
